Journey into the inspiring life of Booker T. Washington, one of the earliest African American leaders who emerged in the aftermath of the Civil War. Born to a slave woman in Virginia, his life took a turn when his mother moved them to West Virginia following emancipation. Rising to prominence, Booker championed the cause of education, leading the Tuskegee Institute for over three decades and collaborating with other universities. Advocating a balanced approach to uplift African Americans, he focused on education and entrepreneurship. However, behind the scenes, he was an active force in challenging discriminatory laws and practices, even serving as a White House advisor.
