Journey back to the time of the California Gold Rush with Henry Vizetelly, penning under the pseudonym J. Tyrwhitt Brooks, as he shares his adventures from 1847-1848. His journey takes a final twist when an unexpected reversal of fortune quashes his dreams of a leisurely retirement, revealing the bitter undercurrent of greed seeping through the mining camps.
